Yes, If you look at the underlying DAP, you will see that coordinate arrays are represented by a Grid construct which has a "maps" section. You can see this by looking at, for example: http://test.opendap.org/opendap/data/nc/123.nc.dds You do have an alternative. If you have compiled netcdf using --enable-netcdf4, then you can do an ncdump -k3 and it will present the DAP data in netcdf-4 format, and in that format, everything is visible. =Dennis Heimbigner
