I can't find an ncxx4-config installed with netcdf-cxx-4.2.  Maybe you
meant "netcdf-cxx4-4.2-r1", a release candidate for netcdf-cxx4-4.2,
which does install an ncxx4-config that doesn't call nc-config,
fortunately.

So it looks like it must have been a bug in netcdf-cxx4-4.2-r1 that was
fixed in netcdf-cxx4-4.2 (September 2011), available from
