[netcdfgroup] Where are sources for HDF4 and libmfhdf necessary for --enable-hdf4?

Hello,

I wish to build netCDF4 with --enable-hdf4.
I installed the Debian package libhdf4-alt-dev to get HDF4.
However the netCDF configure still fails with:

configure: error: Cannot find mfhdf.h, yet --enable-hdf4 was used.

So maybe the Debian HDF4 does not have everything netCDF wants.
(Is there a better Debian library to use?)

I'm happy to install HDF4 from source, but uncertain where to obtain
the Unidata-approved versions of HDF4 and libmfhdf that are
consistent with recent netCDF snapshots. A search of
ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf-4
turns up only HDF5 sources.

Thanks!
cz
