by the way... I just installed cygwin a few days back, it has both NetCDF and HDF libraries with it... If I am not wrong, it also has ‘udunits’ that might be useful... Back then, I just linked netcdfs.lib and everything was sweet. Things have changed........... So, I've tried installing the C library, but it can't find the hdf5 library. These days the Fortran library is separate from the C library. You have to install the C library first; netcdf.h comes with that.
