[netcdfgroup] Building netcdf for Ubuntu 16.04

HI,
           I am trying to build netcdf for Ubuntu-16.04, using gfortran.
However I am not able to get fortran90 option enabled
I am forced to disable netcdf-4 as the configure is not able to find hdf
libraries though I tried below option with paths pointing to hdf.
./configure --prefix=/whatever/you/decided --enable-netcdf-4
--with-hdf5=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/hdf5

F90=gfortran ./configure --prefix=/home/sjo/PKGS/local/ --disable-netcdf-4
/home/sjo/PKGS/netCDF_4.4.4

Please help, if anyone has some suggestions,
with best regards

Sudheer
