Re: [noaaport] Weak NOAAport signal today

I'm getting a 75 signal strength (normal for us is 80 to 88) and we seem to be
receiving ok.

Hello everyone,

My 3.7 meter dish is struggling some to pick up the NOAAPort signal
today. I use a Novra S75+ (latest firmware patch), a NORSAT 3120 LNB, and
using the Novramon software from Jose Nieves, I see this after running it
for about an hour:

       Frequency: 1193.500000
      SymbolRate: 6.349000
        LNBFault: ok
      SignalLock: on
        DataLock: on
SignalStrength%: 77
            VBER: 0.00e+00
          Errors: 1621
       ErrorRate: 0
DemodulatorGain: 78
   NoiseEstimate: 11
    DataSyncLoss: 0
     ClockOffset: 33
  FrequencyError: -1

It's never a good thing when the Demod gain is higher than the signal
strength. I like to see a ClockOffset of 30 or less for excellent
reception. Wondering if it was my system, I logged into the College of
DuPage's NOAAport receiver. They also use the same LNB and S75+ wih the
latest firmware, but they have a 3.0 meter dish.

  Frequency 1193.500000
  Symbol Rate 6.349000
  VBER 1.6539e-02
  Viterbi Rate 7
  LNB Power ON
  Polarization 1
  Band 0
  Long Line 1
  Hi Voltage Mode 1
  Signal Strength 75
  DemodGain 59
  C/N 100.000000
  Signal Lock on
  Data Lock on
  Uncorrectables 127
  Noise Estimate 13
  Clock Offset 98
  Frequency Error 0
  ADC Midpoint Crossing 22
  ADC Clipping Count 255
  Digital Gain 0
  Clamping Count 16

With this latest firmware update of the S75+, the largest error rate you
can have is indeed 1.6539e-02. And, doing an "ldmadmin watch", not
surprisingly, yields ZERO products from them.

So, anyone know what's going on? As they say, "it isn't us"....
