Topic: Operational GOES Products Update
Message Issued: December 5, 2007, 2115 UTC
Satellites Impacted: GOES-12 and GOES-10 Imager and Sounder Products
Products Impacted: ALL GOES Products produced by SATEPS/ESPC from GOES-12 and
GOES-10
Date/Time of Initial Impact: December 4, 2007 1600 UTC
--------------------------
Details:

In reference to the GOES-12 anomaly and the subsequent switchover to GOES-10 as
GOES-East (ref: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/MESS/MSG3391948.01.txt ), the
following SATEPS/ESPC Operational GOES Products are still being worked on by
scientists at ESPC and NESDIS/STAR:

- High Density Winds - fix in the works

- GOES Surface Insolation Product (GSIP) - research group (STAR) will likely
provide fix tomorrow

- GOES Imager Cloud Product (GICP) - product cannot be made without GOES-12 or
GOES-13

- Automated Biomass Burning Algorighm (ABBA) - being investigated

While other products are being generated, they may be degraded due to satellite
location and or other science issues.
