Topic: GOES-13 Operations Test Message Issued: July 17, 2008, 1725 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-13 Products Impacted: GOES-13 Imager and Sounder Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: August 1, 2008 ----------------------------------------- DetailsNESDIS Office of Satellite Operations (OSO)/Satellite Operations control Center (SOCC) will be taking GOES-13 out of storage for a series of tests beginning August 1, 2008. There will be a North/South maneuver performed on the spacecraft on August 5, then an East/West maneuver on August 7. Due to issues with the GOES-11 batteries, GOES-13 will continue operations through the Fall 2008 eclipse season.
Following the INR startup to begin July 31, GOES-13 will operate the imager and sounder from its position at 105 degrees West (navigation summaries can be found at: http://noaasis.noaa.gov/cemscs/navsum.txt ):
