All, from the NWS Southern Region HQ:
This Sunday Morning maintenance on our commodity internet (public
internet) connection will be performed (see message below). The
current time line is from 4:00am CDT to 7:00am CDT. During this
window internet connectivity will be up and down. This 'instability'
will last over the entire time window. This will only affect traffic
outbound from SR to the public internet (www, email, some DNS...),
network connectivity within the region will remain operational.
During the time window you should not make any assumptions about the
reliability of the connection. Please do not report outages you may
experience during this time window.
This outage is not supposed to effect the Internet 2 (I2) connection,
therefore Level-II Radar should be fine. However due to the
configuration of our access point a potential for Level-II to be
affected does exist.
