Thanks Roy,

I was just about to say "Grrr! That didn't work either" when I checked my 
THREDDS server version.  For some inexplicable reason, I seem to have 
downloaded and installed version 3.1, not 3.6!  With version 3.6 installed, 
things seem to be working as expected, which is a great relief.

OK, now I see why I installed 3.1 -- the link on the main Unidata Download page 
(http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/thredds/index.jsp) is to version 3.1, 
not 3.6

Hi Mike:

Yeah, we have it working.  Take a look at:

http://oceanwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov:8081/thredds/catalogServices?catalog=http://oceanwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov:8081/thredds/aggreg/catalog.xml

We have also tested it with matlab.  There are 360 files I think in each case.  
One aggregates based on the file name, the other aggregates based on time 
inside the file.  If you have questions as to how we did it, contact Jerome 
King at the email above.  I have cc:'ed him.
