Hi Tim: NCEP NAM CONUS_12km is not a lat/lon grid, you need to use the projection described by the attributes of the Lambert_Conformal variable: grid_mapping_name: "lambert_conformal_conic" standard_parallel: 25.0 longitude_of_central_meridian: 265.0 latitude_of_projection_origin: 25.0 earth_shape: "Earth spherical with radius of 6371229.0 m" If you are using Java, you can use the netcdf-java library for this.
