Hi Roy, The "viewer" property method of adding viewer links currently supports limited macro replacement to build link URLs that contain data URL information. This is described in the "Adding the Dataset URL to the Viewer Link" section of the TDS viewer page http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/THREDDS/tech/tds4.2/reference/Viewers.html If that isn't flexible enough, that page also describes how to write your own pluggin java class to construct the viewer link URL in the "Create a Viewer implementation Java class" section.
