So, what's my alternative then? Should I use aggregation for the time being?

We have been planning for this upgrade from 4.3 to 4.5 for a while...

Apparently FMRC is not rescanning corrrectly in 4.5. It will be fixed in the 
4.6.0 release soon. Thanks for reporting the problem.
