Doug: Thanks! You might consider adding pygrib2 http://code.google.com/p/pygrib2/(which I wrote), under the NOAA section. I've used it, along with some wget scripts to download the data from the NCAR site, and matplotlib (http://matplotlib.sf.net) to create this site:
