It appears there was a change in the order of pixel color components in BufferedImage for texture mapping from alpha01 to alpha02 of Java 3D. I have made the corresponding change in the VisAD source, so if you are using alpha02 or later, you will probably want to get a new download of the VisAD source. Curtis Rueden discovered this when he was testing his updated version of the GIF and JPEG file adapter, which reads color information.
