Hi Randy, I just read that Sun has joined Linux International, and there was discussion by Sun about efforts to port Java3D to Linux and Solaris x86. No one will release any ports of Java 1.2 and Java3D until Sun brings their reference implementation out of beta, but SGI is known to be working on Java 1.2. It would help for people to let SGI know that they want Java3D on SGI. It will undoubtedly happen with or without SGI's effort, but would be so much cleaner with their support. Sun is planning to bring Java 1.2 and Java3D out of beta sometime this fall. Cheers, Bill ---------------------------------------------------------- Bill Hibbard, SSEC, 1225 W.
