Bill, Thanks for the help with my program - it looks MUCH better! Would you know what classes I should be looking at in order to render an image offscreen, and create a jpeg out of it? Basically, I want my program to run, but not have to have the display shown in a Frame, but rather save the image to a jpeg file. I was thinking about something like DisplayImpl.getComponent.createImage type of trick. KathyLee Argonne National Lab
