Actually, it sounds to me like we need user extensibility to bring chaos to this order ;-) Obviously, applications are free to construct whatever RealTypes they need. There will be some variables where users will want the system to standardize (e.g., time, at least in most cases) and some that are really peculiar to the application or even the session.
