Re: Simple Gridded2D&3DSets

Hi Mohamad,

Gridded2DSet is used in visad/benjamin/Galaxy.java as the domain
Set of a sky map that is displayed mapped onto the surface of a
sphere (the RealType components of the domain MathType are mapped
to Display.Latitude and Display.Longitude).

Gridded2DSet is also used in visad/paoloa/spline/Spline2D.java
as the domain of a number of FlatFields displayed as surfaces
(Z as a function of X & Y).

There are Gridded3DSets in visad/benjamin/Galaxy.java, but they
all have manifold dimension = 1 (they are lines in 3-D space).
Sorry to say that none of the VisAD examples construct
Gridded3DSets with manifold dimension = 3. There are a number
that construct Linear3DSets (visad/benjamin/Galaxy.java and
visad/exmaples/HSVDisplay.java), which extends Gridded3DSet.

Hope this helps,
Bill
