Hi all,

We put together a document describing some plans for collaborating on a library
of reusable Java components for astronomy. Currently, we are planning on using 
the
FITS image component from VisAD to add FITS support to the JAI (Java Advanced 
Imaging) 
interface. We would also be interested in visualization components for plotting 
and 
graphing astronomical data.
