Hi Ray, Sorry about the compile problem in visad.rabin.Rain. It is fixed now. I ran 'java -mx64m Earth lowresTerrain.nc' under the Solaris Production Release and did not get the OutOfMemoryError when I chnaged the color map, but different Java and Java3D implementations may give different results. I am not done working on memory use reduction, so there may still be something strange going. More progress to come.
