grib file adapter

Hi There,

I noticed this topic has already been discussed in the visad-list
archive, but...

I was wondering if anyone had done any further work on reading grib data
in VisAD.
When this topic was last discussed, Bill Hibbard suggested it could be
done indirectly (via a netCDF file)
using some Unidata software at:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/decoders/index.html

Has anyone tried this using this package or, alternatively, writing
their own grib adapter?
