This is an answer to two old questions on this list, now that I've returned from my travels. First, the bug Doug Lindholm found, when a ConstantMap to the ZAxis is used and texture map is enabled, has been fixed. The fix is now in the VisAD ftp distribution. Second, Rick Frankel wanted to get mouse screen locations with DisplayEvents. This now works for ID = MOUSE_PRESSED, MOUSE_PRESSED_CENTER, MOUSE_PRESSED_LEFT and MOUSE_PRESSED_RIGHT using the 'public int getX()' and 'public int getY()' methods of DisplayEvent. Note that this this will not solve the problem of not seeing the DisplayEvents from the FancySSCell (to solve that, we'd need to get a copy of the code - or you could use a DisplayImpl instead of a FancySSCell).
