Hi Peter, > 2) > HDFEOS files are hierarchical. There may be more than one data objects in a > single file while visad spreadsheet opens only one dataset a time. How do > you open an hdfeos file which > has more one data objects ? I am facing this problem with HDF/HDF5 files. Actually, Tom Rink is the best person to answer this, but I'll take a shot and let him correct me if I'm wrong. An HDF-EOS file with multiple data objects is opened as a tuple of those data objects. This may be a tuple with lots of components. This is pretty much the same as when you open a netCDF file with lots of data objects. The one thing I am not sure of with HDF-EOS, is what happens if there are lots of data objects that are images or grids in a time sequence. Since (I think) HDF-EOS does not document this higher-level structure, it would be hard for VisAD to deduce it. So my guess is they come in as a big tuple.
