Hi Francesco,

I took a quick look at your code and couldn't see any
problem.  But it would be easy to miss a problem in 260
lines of code.  One thing to try is to insert a print
statement in all your catch { . . . } clauses, to make
sure you're mot missing some Exception.

If that doesn't work, you might send me a complete set
of code and data, if you can keep it reasonably simple,
so that I can run it myself.

In the displays that don't work, do you at least get a
box, or background color or something?  Or is the panel
just black?
