The classes in visad.browser all conform to JDK 1.1 and so run in web browsers. They can be used to connect clients in applets to VisAD displays running on servers. The procedure to make this work correctly are now described in: ftp://www.ssec.wisc.edu/pub/visad-2.0/README.browser Note that to get netscape security to accept socket connections from unsigned applets, it is necessary to edit your ~/.netscape/preferences.js file. We are looking into the issues in creating signed applets. If anyone on the list knows about this, please feel free to post information to this list.
