Hi Bo, > Is it possible to run a VISAD application in an applet > like Java 3D examples (e.g. HelloUniverse) that can work > as both applications and applets. If so, any tips? Yes, if you can run Java 2 and Java3D in your browser, you can run VisAD. However, this is a big if, so we have recently add a new package visad.browser, whose classes compile under JDK 1.1 and hence can run in applets in ordinary browsers (no need for special Java plug-ins). These classes connect to VisAD on server via sockets. Now netscape 6.0 runs Java 2 (JDK 1.3) which will make the browser situation a little better.
