Re: application to applet?

Yes, if you can run Java 2 and Java3D in your browser, you
can run VisAD.

However, this is a big if, so we have recently add a new
package visad.browser, whose classes compile under JDK 1.1
and hence can run in applets in ordinary browsers (no need
for special Java plug-ins).  These classes connect to VisAD
on server via sockets.

Now netscape 6.0 runs Java 2 (JDK 1.3) which will make the
browser situation a little better.
