Hi,I am new to Visad so please bare with my understanding of this complex software. I am having executing problems from trying to run the examples. I am using Windows98 with Java3D 1.3, jdk1.2.2 and have openGL drivers. I have downloaded visad.jar, visad_src-2.0.jar and visad_examples.jar. I have set my classpath to point to the visad.jar file in the parent directory. From this parent directory I have also unpacked visad_examples in it. Now I am trying to run the classes in it, such as Test68, Test02, DisplayTest, and many others; but I get error message:
C:\test\vis>java visad.examples.Test68Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: visad/examples/Test68
(wrong name: Test68) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source)I get the same message even though I am within the examples directory. Please if you know what I am doing wrong please point me in the right direction. I have read the installation documentation several times and have followed what it says, but I cannot find the solution to my problem. I have already include ?.? In my CLASSPATH to run the classes in visad/examples. Another point I like to mention as well is that when I run the spreadsheet class it works i.e. I run using the command: java visad.ss.SpreadSheet This is because the SpreadSheet is not in the examples directory, as I am aware.
