Hi Jim, > where can one find technical details regarding the visad.bom package > classes? > on-line docts? I'm afraid there is not yet any systematic documentation for these classes. They are mostly made-to-order components that go into applications being built by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (although not all BOM-specified code goes into visad.bom, some like better fonts is in the base visad package). They are mostly about user interaction with data via displays (which is why I like working with the BOM). One way to understand them is via the main() methods that in included in most of the classes in visad.bom. The main() methods serve as examples of how to use the clases, and also a way to demonstrate what they do by running them (afraid you may need to look in the main() methods to see what the command line arguments are).
