Hi Mathias, Transparency rendering is not always correct because of the need to sort geometry. In your case you might have better results if you change the order of addReference() calls for your data objects. Note that Test61 mixes an opaque slice with a transparent volume. Another way to get axis ranges is to create a DisplayListener and have it wait for a DisplayEvent.TRANSFORM_DONE, then call getRange() on all the ScalarMaps.
