Hi, Following the recent release of Java3D on AIX (http://alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/aixj3d ), I've been testing VisAD on AIX. There appears to be a problem with IBMs JIT which has been reported, and they are working on this. For the moment, disabling JIT is recommended (export JAVA_COMPILER=NONE). As part of the test, I am compiling all of visad on the AIX machine, and have noticed the following message as part of the compile: *** Building in java3d Target "all" is up to date. javac -J-mx32m ImmersaDeskDisplayRendererJ3D.java javac -J-mx32m VisADBranchGroup.java Unknown system type AIX make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1. Can we get rid of these errors? Cheers, James -- James Kelly Regional Computing and Distributed Systems Bureau of Meteorology PO Box 1289K Melbourne 3001, Australia Email: J.Kelly@xxxxxxxxxx
