I have updated the Windows-only complete VisAD/Python installer linked off the tutorial page at: http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~tomw/visadtutor/index.html I switched over to use Zero G's InstallAnywhere for this (a more "professional look" plus user install-time options), and updated the versions of the JRE, Java3D, VisAD and Jython. I also cleaned up a couple of issues with the previous releases: * all the Python library utilities are now included (in the Lib/ directory) * the "jyi" start-up script, which imported all the essential VisAD utilities from JPythonMethods and subs.py and graph.py has been fixed. In addition, since InstallAnywhere allows this, part of the install will make a shortcut folder (the default is in the Start->Programs folder) that contains shortcuts for: 1) Jython command line 2) Jython command line plus an import of JPythonMethods, subs.py and grapy.py 3) VisAD-Jython editor 4) VisAD Spreadseet Remember, this is a complete install. You do not have to have Java anything installed on your machine. About the only prerequisite is that you should have OpenGL (which apparently comes with Windows). Happy Holidays to everyone... tom -- Tom Whittaker University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Eng. Center ph: 608.262.2759
