OK, this was a huge exaggeration.  Now that I've played with it it's really
only subtly noticeable.  The machine I'm using now happens to be faster than
the one I was demoing from on Friday.  But all the rest holds true,
especially the elimination of the frequent flickeriness that I used to get
when changing data references.
