Can this code be put into a new class in the visad.bom package? Or does it require any modifications to existing classes in visad.java3d? If it can be isolated in a new class in visad.bom, I'd be happy to add it to the system.
Both classes (shape and offscreen) are stand alone and don't modify the existing api, I will send them along when we are happy that are tested and work properly.
