Hi Pete, > This Mac is running the current version Monterey 12.3. It auto-updated to the > latest > version last week. Since I updated CAVE at about the same time of the Mac OS, > I’m not > sure which caused the wind barb issue. This is something we just recently became aware of, and will update our website today: the latest version of Monterey no longer supports Python2 at all. Currently, our version of CAVE for the Mac still relies on Python2. That is why the wind barbs (and other things) will not work for you. A couple suggestions... You could possibly run a Virtual Machine and then create either an older version of Mac, and install CAVE inside that, or create a CentOS7 image and install CAVE inside that. I'm assuming you can't possibly roll back the MacOS version update? If you have access to any other machine (older Mac, a Windows or CentOS7 machine) then you shouldn't see this issue, but I'm assuming that's not likely? Our next major release of AWIPS (version 20) will be fully supported in Python3, so this will no longer be an issue, but it will be a while before we're able to push out that release. I'm sorry about the troubles. --Shay Carter She/Her/Hers AWIPS Software Engineer UCAR - Unidata If you're interested, please feel free to fill out a survey about the support you receive: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeDIkdk8qUMgq8ZdM4jhP-ubJPUOr-mJMQgxInwoAWoV5QcOw/viewform Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: RGM-945173 Department: Support AWIPS Priority: Normal Status: Open =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
