Hi there, > how hard is it to start your own edex server It's not very hard to start your own server. You will have best results if you have a dedicated machine (it specifically runs edex and not other things). And it has to be a CentOS7 machine (it cannot run on Windows or Mac -- although you may be able to have success running it in a Linux virtual machine). If you want to process a lot of data I would recommend quite a bit of RAM and a decent amount of disc space. The 'hardest' thing, if you are not an educational institution, is getting the data feeds and then creating processes for ingesting the data into EDEX. Let me know if that all makes sense, and if you have any other questions? --Shay Carter She/Her/Hers AWIPS Software Engineer UCAR - Unidata If you're interested, please feel free to fill out a survey about the support you receive: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeDIkdk8qUMgq8ZdM4jhP-ubJPUOr-mJMQgxInwoAWoV5QcOw/viewform Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: UAF-201386 Department: Support AWIPS Priority: Normal Status: Open =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
