Hi Mike, I apologize for not responding to you yesterday when I first saw your inquiry. I started an answer, but was sidetracked by a slew of other issues two of which directly relate to your message. > Tom and CONDUIT Community, Unfortunately, your post did not get delivered to the address@hidden email list. We had instituted some new spam filtering for the lists we maintain (we are getting _hammered_ by spam!), and it had the unintended effect of categorizing all posts as spam. So the good news was that no spam was sent to the lists. The bad news was that no messages were sent to the lists. The follow-up good news was that only three valid messages were rejected; yours was the one that alerted me to the problem. Hopefully, this problem is now fixed (Jen has been working on this all morning). So, can you repost your message to the address@hidden email list? > Am I the only one who depends on the NAM 40 KM stuff? This is the > "awip3d" I believe. Yes, it is the awip3d grid. If the responses we received to Bill Gallus' survey last May/June are any indication of if folks are using the grid, you would be the only one actively using it. However, after my post we received two emails related to the 40 km NAM CONUS grid. I think your approach of sending a follow-up question to the CONDUIT list is the best way to see if folks really do or don't use this grid. > Most of our outreach/teaching visualization is > based on this grid. In addition, I relay to the NAM212 to a > downstream site, which depends on it. This is important to know. > Anyhow, I thought I would throw in my .02 cents in case it's not to > late, or in case others have the same concerns. Thanks for the input! > PS, which current CONDUIT grid could be used in place of the NAM212? > My NAM218 (awip12) does not have the vertical levels. I'm sure I'm > missing something...thanks. I am scrambling to learn as much as I can about the various models so that I can better serve as the UCP liason to NCEP for CONDUIT issues (Chiz was the master, and we all relied on his expertise in these matters). Questions: - are you sure that the NAM 218 grid does not satisfy your needs? NAM218 is 12 km, so the resolution is certainly there, and the areal coverage is much greater than the NAM212 40 km - what specifically are you using the NAM 40 km grid for? This will help us to investigate to see if one of the other grids in CONDUIT or NGRID would be a good substitute for you. - the same sort of questions apply to the site you are feeding downstream Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
