20030407: GEMPAK GUI Free Colors

M. Keith,

You can avoid the entire 8 bit color limitations by running the current GEMPAK
distribution
in 24 bit/true color mode. The current distribution is 5.6.J (24 bit support has
been available since 5.6.h).

The Xfree86-4.2 server had a bug which allocated all 8 bit colors read-only by
the
window manager. These problems were reportedly fixed (somewhat) by available
patches....but with 24 bit support now available, I would suggest that route
since most users were vehemently asking for 24 bit support.
