Elen,

Here are the datastreams that I recommend that you start with:

HDS        - NOAAPORT model output
FNEXRAD    - floater NEXRAD Level III products plus national composites
IDS|DDPLUS - global observational data
NNEXRAD    - all NEXRAD Level III products
UNIWISC    - Unidata-Wisconsin GOES satellite imagery and products
