You mean you don't have root access?  Tsk, tsk.  :-)

The new version is available at

    ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/ldm/ldm-6.4.2.1.tar.Z

Follow the previous instructions with the new version.

I strongly suggest that you remove version 6.4.2.0.
