Leon, I'm afraid I don't understand your question. An LDM obtains data via REQUEST entries in its configuration-file. Each REQUEST specifies the upstream host -- either by hostname or by IPv4 address. If you want a downstream LDM to use a particular local interface to connect to an upstream LDM, then you can use the operating system's routing tables to accomplish that (for example, all connections to *.ucar.edu should use interface <blah>).
