Hi Scott, Sorry that I wasn't able to get to a reply to your query before now... re: > No problem at all. I know you are busy. I look forward to hearing from > you next week. Have a good weekend, Before launching off into a discussion of the various McIDAS things that go into creating something as simple as a GIF, I need to find out how much or little you know about McIDAS? In particular, do I need to go into: - creating a McIDAS-X environment using 'mcenv'? - McIDAS-X ADDE dataset definition, accessing, etc.? - scripting McIDAS-X commands outside of an interactive session? - LDM pattern action files actions for processing satellite imagery? It would also be very useful for me to understand more about your setup: - are you intending to create/maintain a (mini) archive of satellite imagery? If yes, do you envision wanting to go back to display/analyze images saved to disk? Have you read through the McIDAS-X Learning Guide and/or Training Workshop materials: Learning Guide http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/mcidas/current/mclearn/toc.html Training Workshop tutorial http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/mcidas/current/workshop/toc.html Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
