Hi Cathy, When you tried using -I/usr/local/include on the gfortran invocation, did you make sure it appeared before file.nonetopen.f on the command? The order of the options and file names is important to gfortran. If so, have you run "make check" in the nf_test subdirectory of the netCDF source tree when it was built?
