Hello,
Can anyone tell me why gddiag needs a 'TMPK' grid to calculate the
vertical wind shear of a layer?

TMPK is used in computation of THTA for the layer to arrive at DZ
in pressure coordinates. see equation used in:

[DG -7] Input grid TMPK ^990101/0000 @200 %PRES in WSHR cannot be
found.

The grid file contains U and V winds at 200 and 850 mb. Thanks.
