Hi James,
I played around with it this weekend and altered my pqact to such

NGRID   ^L.MA98 KWBR
       PIPE    decoders/dc/dcgrib2
       -e GEMTBL=nawips/gempak/tables
       data/text/gempak/model/rtma/YYYYMMDDHH_rtma.gem


for some reason having the .*RTMA in the line, caused the bad file's
but all is good now ..
