If its a 64-bit (x86_64) OS, I would set X11LIBDIR = -L/usr/lib64 If 32-bit (x86) OS, set X11LIBDIR = -L/usr/lib On newer Linux distros, the use of the X11R6 has virtually disappeared. Thanks. My first difficulties are with the required libraries that GEMPAK wants. GEMPAK seems to look for X11R6 in /usr/X11R6 and my version of CentOS does not have that. Do I need to install it? I was wondering about the best operational system to install and handle GEMPAK. I'm aware of CentOS' stability but I'm not sure about which version to use; 7 (1511) seemed to be interesting, but as my experience with GEMPAK is none I'd whether turn to more experienced users for help before picking one up. Any ideas?
