Hi Julian, On closer examination, there are two issues: 1. The file *must* have a ".gem" extension for it to be read. If not, you get all sorts of strange errors ... 2. There is a problem with data that is extrapolated down to 1000 mb. Instead of being set to "missing", temperature is set to 0.0. (Wicked inversions result in the summer ... hehehehe) --Kevin _____________________________________________ Kevin Tyle, Systems Administrator Dept. of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences University at Albany Earth Science 235, 1400 Washington Avenue Albany, NY 12222 Email: ktyle@xxxxxxxxxx Phone: 518-442-4578 _____________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: idvusers-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:idvusers-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Julien Chastang Sent: Monday, August 18, 2014 12:43 PM To: idvusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [idvusers] GEMPAK Upper-Air files in IDV 5.0u1 Kevin, Please go through the RAOB interface in the IDV. In the IDV dashboard, go to the Data Choosers tab. Select "Observations" > "RAOB". Select the "Sounding: Local" tab, and select and open the GEMPAK Upper Air file. (This operation may take a few seconds before the sounding sites appear.) At this point, you should be able to display SkewTs, hodographs, etc. as you normally would. Please keep us up-to-date on your progress.
