visad performance - Sun/Ultra platforms

If you have used VisAD on a Sun Ultra/10, 60, or 80 platform
(Solaris 7 or 8) using the Elite3D or Creator3D graphics accelerators, 
I would be pleased to hear your critique of the performance
observed and/or the problems encountered.

Is the Elite3D clearly preferable over the Creator3D insofar as
VisAd based applications/applets are concerned?
